1. Submit a Paper (Scientific Day)


ICOODB invites you to submit a paper related to object databases. Possible topics include (but are not limited to) the following:

* Any Object Database Research
* Comparison of Object Databases and Relational Technologies / Mappers / JPA / etc.
* Object Databases in the Industry / Case Studies
* Object Database Products
* Object Databases and Performance
* Object Databases and Query Languages
* Object Database Architectures and Patterns
* Object Databases in Embedded Systems
* Object Databases in Highly Available or Scalable Systems
* Object Databases and Programming Languages
* Object Databases and Standards (e.g. ODMG "4th generation")
* Object Databases in Education
* Object Databases Implementation Strategies

If you are unsure whether your area of interest is appropriate for the conference then don't hesitate to contact us to discuss it.

All papers must be submitted via the conference management system icoodb.confman.net. The papers will be reviewed by the review board to ensure quality.

Scientific papers will go through a peer review process and will presented on the science day March 13 (thursday). The program committee will ensure a high quality contribution standard for the science day.

Questions about the papers can be send to paper[at]icoodb[dot]org.

Papers should fall into one of the following categories:
  • Short papers should describe work-in-progress, and should contain up to 4 single-spaced single-column pages.
  • Long papers providing definitive reports of your work should contain up to 12 single-spaced single-column pages.
(All page numbers are including figures, tables, references and annexes)

Papers should be submitted in PDF format with file size smaller 5MB. All papers must be written in English. Every page of the manuscript should be numbered and the excessive use of italics and bold face should be avoided.

A page containing the following information should preface each manuscript (not included in the page count):
  • Title
  • Name(s) of author(s)
  • Full affiliation
  • Complete address, including email of authors or corresponding author
  • Abstract (no longer than 250 words)
The proceedings will be available to all participants in CD format, or in paper form on request.

Submission deadline for papers:  has passed.
Notification date of acceptance: 29th February 2008

A photo and short biography of all accepted authors will be published on this website.

Note: Only submit a paper if you are able to register and attend the conference! If you are not able to attend the conference, the paper will be removed from the agenda. Even if peviously accepted.

Furthermore, there will be an opportunity for outstanding papers to be published on ODBMS.ORG.

2. Submit a Talk (Application Day)


If you have notable research results, research in progress, industry experience, or any other experiences concerning object databases, you can apply for a talk without submitting a paper. Please submit you idea using this form and send it to talk[at]icoodb[dot]org. This submission must include sufficient background information about the talk and it should explain why you are an appropriate expert in this area.

Talks can have a length of 30 to 40 minutes with about 10 to 20 minutes time for audience questions and extensive discussions.

3. Submit a Poster


If you simply wish to show your work informally and discuss it with experts, there will be an area for displaying posters and time allocated for poster sessions. Please submit your poster requests to poster[at]icoodb[dot]org using this form. The poster shall be in A1 Format (equivalent of 8 normal A4 pages).

4. Software Demonstrations


If you have interesting software or you have made significant developments in the area of object databases then you can propose a software demonstration. This will give you 20 to 40 minutes time to present your software. Please submit your demonstration proposal by filling out this form and emailing it to demo[at]icoodb[dot]org.

5. Propose a Workshop


We still have space to integrate workshops into the conference schedule. If you have an idea for a relevant workshop then please contact us.

6. Become a Sponsor


Please contact sponsor[at]icoodb[dot]org to become a sponsor of this event and get more information about the available packages. Sponsors will get special presentation areas, free talk slots, free conference visits and more. Furthermore, sponsors will be listed on all publicity material, including flyers, posters and possibly T-Shirts.
